The Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh (RBGE) are the scientific centre of plant study, located one mile from the city centre and spread over 70 acres.
The site in Edinburgh is renowned for its preservation of biodiversity in the world, and includes a world class ‘Living Collection’ and Herbarium and a library.
The Gardens are popular as a place to go for a walk, particularly for young families. Entrance is free, although there is a charge for entering the glasshouse. During the year, there are a variety of events including live performances, guided tours and exhibitions.
