DINING & SOCIALISING
We continue to operate safely under the relevant Scottish Government guidance around socialising.
Up to 10 people from 4 households can meet indoors in our bars and restaurants, and 15 people from 15 households can meet outdoors.
Children under 12 do not count towards the total number of people who can meet but do count towards the maximum number of households permitted to meet.
Our bars and restaurants will be open to members, residents and non-residents.
All bars and restaurants at Dalmahoy are 1-metre plus physical distancing zones.
Table service and the wearing of face-coverings (unless exempt) when not seated by all customers is mandatory in all hospitality venues. When meeting people from more than one other household, you should think beforehand about what size of table you will need to keep physically distanced between members of your group. We will be able to advise you of different booking options.
You will be asked by Dalmahoy to provide your contact details (for each person) for Test and Protect purposes. This information is retained for 21 days with a view to sharing with Test and Protect Teams, if required.
Physical distancing and good hand hygiene remain the most effective measures in reducing the transmission of COVID-19. Physical distancing needs to be maintained, where reasonably practicable, at all times, including when waiting to enter premises and when seated.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner in our Pentland Restaurant will be offered at tables for up to 10 guests, with a maximum of 4 households per table.
Due to current Scottish Government guidelines, we recommend pre-booking for all dining outlets in the hotel.

From Friday 23rd July, The James Braid Bar will open 7am – 9pm.
Our bars and restaurants have been set-up to ensure 1-metre plus social distancing and adherence to the updated Scottish Government guidelines. We ask that:
- All guests refrain from moving any furniture in the bars & restaurants
- As per the updated indoor gathering guidelines, all guests socialise in tables of up to a maximum of 10 people from 4 households per table
- All guests follow these updated guidelines at all times in the bar, restaurant and across the full resort
Our Championship East Course and Resort West Course are open to hotel residents, members and visitors.
We have been following the guidance from Scottish Golf and have installed a suitable framework for safe play. This framework aims to protect the health and wellbeing of our golf team, our members and guests.
From Monday, 19 July there are some updates to the golf course procedures, which will be news well received for many.
All rakes are back in the bunkers. Preferred lies in the bunkers will continue. This gives all players the option should they not feel comfortable using the rake. Again, if this is the case please do all you can to smooth the area with your club or foot.
The hole depth reducers have been removed and pins are permitted to be removed for putting.
Some additional golf course furniture will be re-introduced on the course. This is now permitted through the updated Scottish Golf guidance.
We continue to focus our efforts on ensuring our members and residents can focus on having an enjoyable experience with us.
Indoor social distancing regulations have now been amended to 1m from Monday, 19 July, meaning that capacity has now increased through our various leisure areas.
Please note, we are operating a pre-booking system for all fitness classes and swimming session slots. Pre-booking is not required for gym sessions, but we are operating a 20 person maximum at any one time in the gymnasium.
Please call 0131 333 1845 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to make your booking.
Beauty Essentials is open. Please call the salon directly to book your treatment - full details here
For the time being we will continue to operate with a booking system and maximum capacity of 24 (not including 5 year olds and under).
Sauna & Steam Room
The capacity for the sauna and steam room will remain at 2 in each facility. Again, we ask all users to ensure they are respecting the social distancing regulations when in this area.
The Dance Studio & Fitness Classes
With the 1m social distancing rule in place from Monday, 19 July, the capacity of the Dance Studio has increased to 20. We ask all members to continue to pre-book their classes through the Intelligent golf app and all residents to book via the hotel team.
As the gym equipment is socially distanced, the capacity of the gym has increased to 20 and pre-booking is not required. We ask all members to check in and scan their membership card at leisure reception and for any hotel guests to complete a registration card and the track and trace QR code.
